I love the flavor of sweet marinades, but not so sweet that it masks the taste of the meat. This one captures the perfect combination of ingredients to enhance and tenderize this cut of meat.
- 1-1/2 pound flank steak
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- kosher salt and pepper
Mix all ingredients together with the exception of the kosher salt and pepper. Place marinade in freezer bag along with flank steak. Marinate 4 - 24 hours.
Prepare grill by brushing grates with oil olive. Preheat grill until hot.
Remove flank steak from freezer bag and coat with kosher salt and pepper. Grill for 4 - 6 minutes on each side.
Remove from grill. Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Thinly slice against the grain on a diagonal.
